About this blog…

Hello and welcome to my blog,

My nickname is decepticonpunk (dp or dpunk for short) and I’m an active member of the GR Hack community. My primary interest is program’s analysis and more precisely static analysis of source code for security vulnerabilities. I enjoy delving into the theoretical concepts of program’s analysis, compilers and so on, as well as discovering, analysing and exploiting vulnerabilities. I don’t work for any security related company since I don’t like getting paid for doing my hobby (I actually prefer academic environments ;-). This blog is the place where I’ll be talking about various stuff concerning my research interests, including both program analysis related topics as well as more practical, exploitation related, topics.

Currently I am working on my personal project named OpenSAT (Open source Static Analysis Toolbox) whose name is pretty self explanatoty. Although the project is still very new and doesn’t even do what it’s supposed to do, I am planning to release some of its parts as the time goes by and my research progresses. My aim is to create an open source standard for static analysis, like OpenSSH is for SSH (wish me good luck).

For any questions, suggestions, or anything you can contact me at dp@grhack.net.

Have fun
